Who we are
8Count Backstage is a booking service used by individual dance studios to manage classes, room availability, and the annual private lesson booking workflow. Each studio's data is kept separate from every other studio's.
What we collect
- Studio staff: name and email used for sign-in, color preference, role.
- Parents and dancers: primary parent name, email, optional phone, optional SMS opt-in flag, dancer names, optional dates of birth, optional level / category.
- Booking activity: contracts uploaded, routines requested, time slots picked, holds and confirmations.
- Audit log: a per-studio record of every change to bookings, contracts, and configuration, including who made the change and when.
How we use it
- To run the studio's scheduling for the studio.
- To send the studio's parents the transactional emails and SMS messages described in our SMS notification policy.
- To investigate and resolve incidents, abuse, or disputes (audit log).
Sharing
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to operate the platform:
- Supabase — managed Postgres database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Twilio — transactional SMS delivery (opt-in only).
We do not sell personal information. We do not share studio data with other studios on the platform.
SMS
See our SMS notification policy for full details on opt-in, opt-out, and the kinds of messages we send.
Retention
Booking and contact data is retained for the duration of the studio's account plus a reasonable archival period to support audit and dispute resolution. Studios can request deletion of specific family records at any time.
